Weekend Reading & Selected Links

1 min read

Happy weekend! After testing the format in 2021, my weekend newsletter is continuing.

I enjoy sharing my thoughts and finds with you, and the overwhelming response to last week's email left no doubt in my mind that doing so is worthwhile. Thank you to everyone who responded (I'll try to reply to you personally this week).

In the meantime, here are some links to things I've been reading or watching that you might also enjoy:

1. 'Is "Revenge of the Sith" the greatest work of art in the past 30 years?', a short video excerpt in which Camille Paglia makes the case.

2. 'Where's Today's Beethoven?', a new blog post by Holden Karnofsky.

3. 'An Ancient Greek Astronomical Calculation Machine Reveals New Secrets' a recent Scientific American article on the Antikythera mechanism.

4. Sam Altman's Startup Playbook.

5. Steven Pinker and the late, great Ed Wilson in a 1998 panel discussing Ed's book Consilience.

Have a great weekend,

Joe
